Standard features on all canoes include hardwood stems, thwarts, seat frames and gunwales, and choice of caned or rawhide seats. Among the many possible options are hand carved portaging thwart, folding seat backs, motor mounts, brass stems, extra heavy duty fiberglass layup and more. A wide variety of hardwoods are available for trim. |

to suit your needs, build from other designs, or take lines off

Prospector Type
High Volume Tripper

on the great Chestnut Prospector canoes. This boat is built of
redwood with white ash trim,
rawhide seats and a hand carved portaging thwart. The high volume
rockered hull makes it the ideal go anywhere tripper and its
light weight makes it a chinch to portage.
